High-Bay

A high bay facility provides a large, open space with high ceilings for the assembly, testing and integration of large-scale equipment and payloads, such as spacecraft components, high-altitude balloons or industrial machinery.

High-Bay Capabilities

  • Dedicated space for assembling high-altitude stratospheric balloons
  • Facilitates large payload assembly in a controlled environment
  • Supports diverse research and engineering projects related to atmospheric and space exploration
  • Accommodates larger teams of scientists and engineers working collaboratively

Specifications

High Bay Specifications

  • 40-ft high bay equipped with four overhead bridge cranes (30-ft hook height each)
    • West side: Two 7.5-ton cranes (15-ton combined capacity)
    • East side: Two 5-ton cranes (10-ton combined capacity)
  • High-bay door usable dimensions: 16 ft (W) × 29 ft (H)
  • 540-lb capacity Flotron spacecraft rotation fixture
  • Portable general purpose 2-ton gantry crane with up to a 7 ft hook height.
